PRESS RELEASE
"Mail Order Bride," the first feature film to be shot jointly in New Jersey
and Russia, will arrive in movie theaters in the New Jersey/New York area
on November 21st, 2003.
This outrageous action-comedy, starring, co-written and co-directed by
Hoboken resident Robert Capelli, Jr., also features fellow New Jerseyans
Danny Aiello and Artie Lange. Ivana Milicevic, Frank Gorshin, Jackie
Martling and Vincent Pastore are in the supporting cast.
The story concerns the misadventures of Anthony Santini, the nephew of a
mob boss who is sent to Russia to find a beautiful "mail-order bride" who
cheated five would-be grooms out of their money. A Relativity Pictures and
Small Planet Pictures release, "Mail Order Bride" was filmed in Hoboken and
Jersey City, and in many famous Russian locations rarely seen in features,
such as Red Square, the Kremlin wall and Lenin's Tomb.
This is Capelli's second effort as writer/director, according to Joseph
Friedman, Executive Director of the New Jersey Motion Picture and
Television Commission. His first film, "The Rules For Men," was filmed in
Hoboken, Kearny and Wayne in 1998, and won several film festival awards.
